Windy City Ribfest Heads to Uptown in July

UPTOWN — The Windy City Ribfest will bring live music and all the pork you can handle to Uptown over the Fourth of July weekend.

The eighth annual festival will feature some of the top local and national rib vendors, arts and crafts and a musical lineup, which in the past has included Lucky Boys Confusion, Cracker, Rusted Root, Cowboy Mouth and Liquid Soul. This year's musical guests have not yet been announced.

Last year's vendors included: Aussom Aussie Australian BBQ, BBQ King Smokehouse, Chicago BBQ Company, Porky Chicks BBQ and Sweet Baby Ray's.

The ribfest will be at Lawrence Avenue and Broadway from noon to 10 p.m. on July 2 and July 3, and from noon to 9 p.m. on July 4. Parking will be available in the Aragon Ballroom parking lot near the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Winthrop Avenue for $10, the release said.
