CHICAGO — For the second time in just over a week, the Chicago Police Department looking for an "unauthorized" person who used a racial slur on the police scanner.

The comment appeared to have been made around 7 p.m. Sunday.

At the 1:03 mark, the person says "Will you shoot all these goddamn n------ and get it over with?"

Last Sunday, someone used the same racial slur on the police scanner. Police later determined the comments were from an unauthorized user.

In a statement released Monday, police said that "the racial comments are abhorrent and absolutely unacceptable."

"We have confirmed these are coming from external, unauthorized radios accessing emergency frequencies," police said in the statement. "At this time, there is no evidence that this individual is a city employee, however, OEMC and CPD continue to investigate."
