CHICAGO — Nine people have been wounded in shootings since Wednesday, police said.
• Most recently, at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, a 31-year-old man was shot in Calumet Heights, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in the 8700 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard when he was robbed at gunpoint.
The man was shot in the eye, arm and finger and was taken by a family member to Advocate Trinity Hospital in serious condition, Sedevic said. He will be transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
• At 5:25 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was shot multiple times, though police could not immediately determine where the shooting took place, Sedevic said. The woman was inside a car when she was shot in the arm and wrist. She walked into Mercy Hospital, where she was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
The woman was highly intoxicated, police said.
• At 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 22-year-old man was shot while driving on North Lake Shore Drive, Sedevic said. The man crashed his car and a passenger had an anxiety attack.
• At 10:05 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in Marquette Park, Sedevic said. The man was driving through an alley in the 6700 block of South Artesian Avenue when two men fired shots at him from a gangway.
The man was hit in the right shoulder and left hand and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
• At 10 p.m., a 22-year-old man accidentally shot himself in Bronzeville, Sedevic said. The man was in the 3400 block of South Prairie Avenue when he accidentally shot himself in the hand.
The man was taken to Mercy Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.
• At 8:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in Hermosa, Sedevic said. The man was in the 4200 block of West Dickens Avenue when he was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition.
A man in a black hoodie was seen running away, Sedevic said.
The victim is a documented gang member, police said.
• At 4 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, Sedevic said. The man was in the 2700 block of West Flournoy Street when someone in a black, two-door Mustang fired at him. There were two men inside the car.
The victim was hit in his right shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
• At 1:50 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Englewood, Sedevic said. The man was walking down the street in the 7000 block of South Elizabeth Street when he heard shots and felt pain. A black car was seen driving away.
The man was shot in the lower left leg and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
• At 10 a.m., a 43-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, Sedevic said. The man was in the 3400 block of West Harrison Street when he heard shots and felt pain.
The man was shot in the legs and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, though his condition was unknown, Sedevic said. He was treated and released.
No one was in custody in these shootings.
