ALBANY PARK — Armed forces veterans are "redeploying" inside communities like Albany Park to find a new purpose when they leave the military.

The Mission Continues, founded in 2007, is a non-profit organization that pairs veterans with community partners to tackle projects that provide a different sort of service to one's country.

On Saturday, a "platoon" from The Mission Continues is teaming with Ald. Deb Mell (33rd) to spruce up Roosevelt High School, 3436 W. Wilson Ave.

Residents are invited to pitch in with painting and small maintenance jobs, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To sign up or for more information, call 773-478-8040.
