DOWNTOWN — Willie Wilson, the Chicagoan you might have forgotten is running for president, is running third in the Illinois Democratic primary.
Wilson, who ran for mayor of Chicago against Rahm Emanuel in 2015, racked up more than 4,700 votes in Illinois — good enough for third place but about 645,000 votes behind second-place Bernie Sanders.
Wilson received more votes in than former candidate Martin O'Malley, but still has less than .4 percent of the vote and was in third place.
Though Wilson hasn't garnered the attention of big-name opponents like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, black and white signs for him could be seen around town in the weeks leading up to the primary.
