HYDE PARK — The student members of the Brotherhood of Kenwood Academy are challenging Chicago firefighters and paramedics to a basketball tournament for charity on Friday.

The students in the mentoring program at the school, 5015 S. Blackstone Ave., are challenging the African-American Firefighters and Paramedics League of Chicago to a basketball game at 6 p.m. Friday.

Tickets are $5 and proceeds go towards offsetting the costs of a spring college trip to Cincinnati, Ohio, and for college scholarships at Kenwood Academy.

The K-phi-9 Dance Troupe will also perform at the game.
