ALBANY PARK — Ald. Deb Mell (33rd) and the Albany Park Police District are teaming to host a community beat meeting specifically aimed at reaching out to the Hispanic community.

Cmdr. Elias Voulgaris, named to the post in June 2015, is expected to attend, along with district police officers and elected officials, 7-8 p.m., March 30, at Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Ave.

In addition to sharing information about crime in the area, the meeting is designed to raise awareness of city and community resources available to neighbors.

Although the focus of the meeting will be to strengthen the relationship between police and Hispanic residents, all members of the community are invited to attend. The meeting will be conducted in English and Spanish.
