WOODLAWN — A 23-year-old man died after being shot multiple times Monday morning in Woodlawn, police said.

Just after 11 a.m., the man got into an argument with someone in the 6500 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when the other person pulled out a gun and shot him in the head, back and shoulder, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, Sedevic said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Maurice K. Cavin of the 7500 block of South Phillips Avenue.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
