4 Wounded in Citywide Shootings Since Monday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Four people were hurt in shootings across the city between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, police said.

A man ran into an elementary school for help after he was shot in Garfield Park early Monday afternoon, police said.

• Most recently, around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, a 24-year-old man was standing on the corner of 116th Street and Princeton Avenue in West Pullman when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his buttocks, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• At 10:32 p.m. Monday, an 18-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of North Leclaire Avenue in Austin when someone shot at him from a passing blue van, Pacheco said.

The man went to West Suburban Hospital, where he was listed in good condition after being treated for a gunshot wound in his hand, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, a 27-year-old man was shot while riding in a car in the 6600 block of South Karlov Avenue in West Lawn, Pacheco said.

The car continued to the 4100 block of West Marquette Road, where it crashed into another car, Pacheco said.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Pacheco said, where he was listed in fair condition after being treated for gunshot wounds in his back and his hand.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
