LINCOLN PARK — A local theater company is hosting a book drive benefiting nonprofit Open Books.

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company — a resident at Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. — is giving away free tickets to preview performances of "The Life of Galileo" to anyone who donates at least two or gently used books to Open Books anytime between March 23-26.

"The Life of Galileo" tells the story of astronomer and physicist Galileo Galilei, who "fights to share his discoveries with the common man," the theater company writes. The play was written by Bertolt Brecht.

The preview performances are scheduled for March 23-26, but the show will run through May 1.

Free tickets are subject to availability.
