Pizza Delivery Drivers Robbed 4 Times at Knifepoint in Albany Park: Police

ALBANY PARK — Pizza delivery drivers have been robbed at knifepoint four times in Albany Park since last Wednesday, according to a community alert issued Tuesday.

In each incident, police said, the robbers placed an order then wait until the food arrived, then pulled out a gun or a knife and demanded the driver's phone and wallet.

The robberies were reported at the following times and locations:

• The 4700 block of North Kewanee Avenue at 2:25 a.m. on Feb. 17. Police described the suspects of this robbery as two black men in their early 20s, between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall. One man had a dark handgun and the other had a tire iron, with a third robber carrying a knife, police said. A woman placed the delivery order, police said.

• The 3400 block of West Sunnyside Avenue at 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 18. In this incident, police described the robbers as a 28-year-old black woman, a 25-year-old black man armed with a knife and a 25-year-old white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

• The 4500 block of North Central Park Avenue at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21. Police described the robbers as a white boy between the ages of 14 and 16, a Hispanic boy between the ages of 14 and 16 wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and black pants and a third person who held a knife.

• The 4500 block of North Central Park Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 22. Police described the three robbers as two shorter white men in their early 20s with gray hooded sweatshirts and hunting knives, and another unknown suspect wearing a gray sweatshirt.
