NORTH CENTER — Chance the Rapper and Kendrick Lamar headlined last summer's inaugural Teens in the Park Fest.

For the 2016 fest, set for July 9 at Northerly Island, teens themselves are being recruited to perform alongside the pros.

The Chicago Park District announced three audition dates and locations:

• Saturday, Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St.

• March 5, Hamilton Park, 513 W. 72nd St.

• March 12, Revere Park, 2509 W. Irving Park Road

Youths ages 14 to 20 (as of July 9) are eligible to sign up for the tryouts, which will take place from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on the above dates.

Interested teens must pre-register online; a limited number of people will be allowed to register on site. Registration does not guarantee an audition slot, which will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some rules:

• For performers auditioning as a group, the maximum number of members is 10.

• Lyrics must be free of profanity.

• No drum sets allowed.

• Performances are limited to two minutes.

• Rap, hip-hop and poetry performances must be original works.
