CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday morning in Austin, police said.
At 8:35 a.m., the man was found on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Lavergne Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man had been shot in the head and arm.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, Sedevic said.
Richard Thrasher, of the 4900 block of West Thomas, was pronounced dead at 9:06 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The man was a documented gang member, police said.
No one was in custody.
Just a block away, a 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting Tuesday morning.
