AUSTIN — A man was killed in a shooting in Austin on Tuesday morning, police said.
At 9:05 a.m., a 21-year-old man was wounded when someone fired several shots in the 4900 block of West Division Street when he walked out of a store, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
Rashawn Gooden Jr. of the 4800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, was identified by the Cook County's Medical Examiner's Office, was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m.
Gooden was a documented gang member, police said.
No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.
