Here's How Some Families Can Get Their Taxes Done For Free

HYDE PARK — Families who made less than $50,000 last year can get their taxes done for free at the Dawson Technical Institute until April.

The Center for Economic Progress is offering free tax preparation at Dawson, 3901 S. State St., from 5:30-8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through April 18.

To qualify, individuals need to have made less than $25,000 last year or $50,000 for families.

Individuals are also automatically covered by the center’s attorney’s if the IRS or Illinois Department of Revenue challenges the return.
