LAKEVIEW — You'll never know what you might find looking in the snow.

More than two years ago, on assignment at the Bill Jarvis Migratory Bird Sanctuary, I spotted this pair of hearts made in the snow of a Lakeview parking lot. It's one of the few photos not of my children I've kept in my iPhone since.

Besides that photo, the story on the sanctuary led to another quirky find: a "creepy" doll encased in cement in the sanctuary's storage shed. It was ultimately determined to be a Hugga Bunch.
