NORTH CENTER — Forget Bernie vs. Hillary or Trump vs. Cruz. The hottest race in the 47th Ward pits alley repairs against pedestrian countdown signals.

Voting is open through Feb. 21 in Ald. Ameya Pawar's annual survey of which infrastructure projects to fund with the ward's $1.32 million in "menu" money.

Options include dozens of alleys in need of resurfacing, sidewalk replacement, curb and gutter repairs, pedestrian improvements and street repaving.

The project list was compiled from block audits, 311 requests and a ward staff review. Residents can cast their vote online or pick up a paper copy at the 47th Ward office, 4243 N. Lincoln Ave.
