LINCOLN SQUARE — Is your family tree missing a few branches?

On popular television programs such as PBS' "Finding Your Roots" and TLC's "Who Do You Think You Are?," celebrities track down their ancestors courtesy of all sorts of super-sleuthing assistance from research pros.

Real people may not have Henry Louis Gates Jr. at their disposal but they do have the next best thing: a librarian.

On Wednesdays in February, librarians at Sulzer Regional Library, 4455 N. Lincoln Ave., will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. for one-on-one sessions to teach people how to dig into their family's background.

In addition to genealogy, the librarians will also cover the basics of local history research for those interested in learning more about their neighborhood's past.
