LINCOLN SQUARE — A woman was robbed Friday morning in Lincoln Square, according to an alert from Ald. Pat O'Connor (40th).
At approximately 5:15 a.m., the woman was walking south from the Dunkin' Donuts at Lincoln and Foster when she was approached, near Carmen and Lincoln, by three males in a light blue, four-door vehicle, the alderman said in a note to constituents.
The men demanded her wallet, cellphone and keys. One of the men had a gun.
No further details were available from the Chicago Police Department.
This latest incident follows on the heels of a recent spate of crime that has rattled the normally quiet community.
At a CAPS meeting Wednesday night, 20th District Cmdr. Sean Loughran told residents the district had "by far" the lowest crime rate in the city but that recent violence had been a "shock to the system."
