Beverly Man Charged One Week After Garfield Ridge Murder

CHICAGO — A Beverly man has been charged in the murder of a 34-year-old man in Garfield Ridge on Jan. 16, police said.

Dannee Brewer, 23, of the 10400 block of South Bell Avenue was arrested and charged with first degree murder, according to a police news release Saturday.

At 11:50 a.m., 34-year-old Quintae Little was in a parking lot in the 4500 block of South Cicero Avenue when he was shot in the right side of his torso, according to police and county records. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said at the time.

Little, of the 4500 block of South Lavergne, was pronounced dead at 12:46 p.m., according to county records.

Police did not say how Brewer was identified. He is expected to appear in bond court Sunday.
