LINCOLN SQUARE — On Saturday, Gene's Sausage Shop will break with tradition and open its rooftop beer garden for the first time ever in winter.
What's the occasion?
The release of Gene's Sausage Bock, a collaboration with Arcade Brewery.
The beer, Arcade's first lager, is made with malt smoked at Gene's to provide a flavor that pairs perfectly with sausage, according to the brewery.
To further cement the partnership, the label features the likeness of Gene's founder Gene Luszcz.
Arcade will be pouring free tastings of the beer, among others, beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday at Gene's, 4750 N. Lincoln Ave.
At 6 p.m., the party heads to the rooftop for more tastings, free food, live music and more.
