LINCOLN PARK — A group with the 530 Fullerton Foundation is planning to sleep outside Friday evening to support the city's homeless.

The goal of the "sleep out" is to raise money for the homeless so they can get the resources they need to live a better life, said the organization, which exists to provide community, food and wellness to Chicago's most vulnerable people.

The "sleep out" group, which includes seven members of the nonprofit organization, 530 W. Fullerton Pkwy., will be posting live updates, photos and videos throughout the night. Supporters are encouraged to tweet at the group using the hashtag #530Sleeps.

By Friday morning, the group had met its fundraising goal of $15,000, but more donations are welcome.

Donate by visiting the organization's online fundraiser.
