BRIDGEPORT — A group of neighborhood folks will soon hold an election to appoint leaders for a new park advisory council focused on shaping the future of the forthcoming Eleanor Street Boathouse.
Set for 7-9 p.m. Monday at The Duck Inn, 2701 S. Eleanor St., the election follows several meetings where boathouse enthusiasts brainstormed ideas to develop programs around the $5.7 million facility.
Here’s a look at the positions available:
President: A voting member who will prepare an agenda, preside over all PAC meetings and perform other duties developed by the council.
Vice President: A voting member who will preside over all meetings the president can’t attend. If the president can’t complete his or her term, the vice president will take over.
Treasurer: A voting member responsible for all council funds. The treasure will present financial statements at each meeting and an itemized report once a year.
Secretary: A voting member who will record minutes at all council meetings, keep a permanent file of all council records and maintain a council binder.
