IRVING PARK — Members of the community can play an important role in helping victims of human trafficking — if they know what to look for.
The Kedzie Center — Chicago's first community-funded mental health clinic — is hosting a "Human Trafficking 101" workshop, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, to discuss the issue of trafficking and provide information on how to assist victims.
Guest speaker Micaela Garrido of the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services will teach attendees how to identify the signs of trafficking and will outline steps people can take to point victims to available services.
The workshop is free and open to the public, 4141 N. Kedzie Ave.
