LINCOLN PARK — Police have charged a South Side man for a string of robberies, two of them in Lincoln Park and one in the West Loop.
Michael Jackson, 58, of the 9000 block of South Parnell Avenue, has been charged with one count aggravated robbery, one count robbery and one count attempted robbery, according to a police alert.
All of the robberies occurred Jan. 16, police said.
Police arrested Jackson after identifying him as the man who robbed a small retail store in the 400 block of West Armitage Avenue around 2:39 p.m. and "implied he had a handgun," the alert said.
Police determined in a further investigation that Jackson was also responsible for two more robberies on the same day: a convenience store in the 2000 block of North Halsted Street around 8:02 a.m. and an attempted robbery of a restaurant in the 100 block of South Clinton Street at around 11:43 a.m.
Police did not provide any further information.
