THE LOOP — Police have charged two teenagers suspected of robbing the same 7-Eleven store in the Loop five times late last year.

Police said Friday that they arrested one 15-year-old boy Jan. 5 in connection to the robberies, and another Jan. 6. The first boy was charged with one count of felony retail theft greater than $300, one count of felony robbery, two misdemeanor counts of retail theft less than $300 and one count of trespassing. The second boy was charged with one count of felony robbery.

Police declined to elaborate on where and how the suspects were identified and arrested. Police do not release names or mugshots of minors.

The five robberies, all at the same 7-Eleven store at 48 N. Wells St., occurred in the early morning hours during the last week of 2015. Police reported three suspects then, including one man who acted as a lookout while the other two filled backpacks with food, cartons of cigarettes and liquor bottles.

One store clerk later told DNAinfo Chicago that the robbers liked "chips and sandwiches."

"They knew nobody's here [then]," a store manager who declined to give his name told DNAinfo previously. "It's a very quiet area at that time."

Police did not comment on the third suspect referenced in the initial community alert sent earlier this year.
