Robbers Target Same 7-Eleven 5 Times in One Week, Police Say

By  Kelly Bauer and David Matthews | January 6, 2016 7:42am | Updated on January 6, 2016 5:58pm

CHICAGO — Police are looking for three men who robbed the same 7-Eleven store in the Loop five times last week.

During the early morning robberies, all of which occurred at a 7-Eleven store at 48 N. Wells St., one man stood by the door as a lookout and told the store's sales clerk not to call anyone, police said. The other two men meanwhile filled backpacks with food, cartons of cigarettes and liquor bottles.

"They knew nobody's here [then]," a store manager who declined to give his name told DNAinfo Chicago on Wednesday afternoon. "It's a very quiet area at that time."

Aside from cigarettes and liquor, the manager said the robbers liked "chips and sandwiches, and that's it." The store has turned over surveillance footage to police, the manager said.

The robberies occurred at:

• 1:35 a.m. Dec. 30

• 2:20 a.m. Dec. 28

• 1:32 a.m. Dec. 25

• 2:21 a.m. Dec. 24

• 3:37 a.m. Dec. 23

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call police at (312) 747-8384.
