EAST GARFIELD PARK — Chicago-based furniture designer Ben Hanisch is Amy Schumer's new boyfriend, or "basically Aiden from Sex in the City," according to People magazine, which has swiftly compiled '5 Things' fans of the 34-year-old comedian need to know about him.

On Tuesday, Schumer broke the news that she's no longer single over her Twitter and Instagram, posting photos of herself and Hanisch at the White House, or "whitehizzy."

Hanisch is owner of The Last Workshop, a custom furniture company at 319 N. Albany Ave. in East Garfield Park's Albany Carroll Arts Building, which is home to over 70 artists working in different mediums, according to its website.

Hanisch did not return a call on Wednesday.

Sara Peak Convery, a painter who also has a studio in the building, is a fan of the comedian: "[She's] pretty crass. I like that."

In "Sex and the City," Aidan, played by John Corbett, designs and builds furniture and is a boyfriend of Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.

According to Hanisch's LinkedIn profile, his business uses only 100 percent U.S.-sourced materials and he previously served as a design consultant for HGTV before starting his own company in December of 2013.

"Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here's to what adventures 2016 brings!" Hanisch posted on Instagram last week along with a photo of himself and Schumer.
