WICKER PARK —  Bee & Tea, a bubble tea and Asian steamed bun shop from the same owners of Forever Yogurt, has shuttered its Wicker Park location, though a sign in the window says it will be "reopening soon nearby."

Less than one block east of Forever Yogurt's first shop at 1924 W. North Ave., Bee & Tea at 1843 W. North Ave. opened in June 2014 and sold Taiwanese boba, or bubble tea, as well as bao, Asian steamed buns topped with meat, veggies or a dessert filling.

On its one-year anniversary, the shop, which served open-faced bao, switched to closed buns, where the fillings were stuffed inside, similar to the Wow Bao chain.

A sign posted in the window of the storefront, which has been cleared out, says "Sorry to say goodbye" and thanks Bee & Tea fans.

Bee & Tea CEO Mandy Calara was not immediately available for comment on Thursday.

A worker who answered the phone at Forever Yogurt said that Bee & Tea closed last week.

Bee & Tea also has a second location in Lincoln Park at 818 W. Fullerton Ave. It is unclear if that spot remains open since the shop is closed through Jan. 3, according to a Facebook post.
