LINCOLN SQUARE — The Department of Water Management is ringing in the New Year with a water main replacement project on Lincoln Avenue scheduled to start next week.

Crews will begin installing a new pipe under the stretch of Lincoln between Montrose and Lawrence avenues and between Belmont and Addison.

The road will remain open to traffic but expect "no parking" restrictions between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The project was pushed into 2016 to prevent disruption to businesses during the holiday shopping season, according to Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th).

The city has been working year-round since 2011 to replace its 100-year-old water mains, installing 90 miles of new pipe in 2015.
