OLD TOWN — A party bus driver has been charged after police recovered five guns from the bus after reports of gunfire nearby early Sunday.

Omar Massoud, 32, of the 4200 block of North Broadway, was charged with one count of reckless conduct and one count of being a party to a crime, both misdemeanors, according to a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Officers responded to calls reporting gunfire around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and were directed to a party bus in the 100 block of West Division Street, police said.

Police searched the bus and found five guns.

No one was reported shot, but police took Massoud in for questioning at the time.

Massoud is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 10.
