ENGLEWOOD-- The ‘Army of Moms’ group says that the spike in shootings near Christmas is “terrible.”

Five people have been injured in four separate shootings in Englewood since Tuesday, police said.

Tamar Manasseh, the organizer of Mothers Against Senseless Killings, said that her group is recruiting volunteers for the summer now because it’s only going to get worse.

“It’s so important to build up during the winter so come the summer, we’ll have a handle,” she said.

There have been 476 murders in Chicago this year.
