BRIDGEPORT — Renderings of what the next phase of the Chicago Helicopter Experience might look like in 2017 were unveiled this week at a community forum.

Only one family showed up to the forum Tuesday. They live in a housing development west of the temporary terminal at 2420 S. Halsted St.

“The main concern is still the noise,” one resident said.

At the forum the company's executive director Trevor Heffernan said the Chicago Helicopter Experience’s “Phase 2” design would help create more space for helicopters to move — and stay away from residential areas.

Construction is expected to start in Summer 2016, and the facility will be open by 2017.

The business originally opened in 2014 and while area residents expressed concerns at the time, neighbors have seemed to tune out the noise.

Here’s a look at the renderings, which include a two-story building with a green roof, four helipads and a dock on the Chicago River that will add a stop for the Chicago Water Taxi:
