RAVENSWOOD — Eats and Sweets is trying something new for its holiday dinner on Wednesday.

Instead of a prix fixe menu, the cafe is offering the opposite (prix liberté?): three courses that cost ... whatever.

Co-owner Margaret McCall explained the pay-what-you-can dinner to DNAinfo.

"For the Christmas season, it was important to us that we give all members of our community the chance to sit down at the same table and enjoy a carefully prepared meal at a price point everyone can afford," she said.

Whether they pay $2 or $20, diners will enjoy a salad, choice of entree (including a vegetarian option) and a "deconstructed" s'more for dessert.

Seating is first-come, first-served, 4-8 p.m., 1636 W. Montrose Ave.
