LINCOLN PARK — In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! is offering everything from happy hour specials to a traditional Spanish pintxo bar during January.

The Spanish tapas restaurant, 2024 N. Halsted St., will be serving menu classics at "1980s prices," which means as low as 50 cents, at the bar from Jan. 18-27 during happy hour. Diners can order the specials Monday-Sunday between 4-6 p.m., plus Friday-Saturday from 10 p.m. to midnight.

On. Jan. 19, the restaurant will transform into a pintxo bar, which are typically found in northern Spain. That means there will be an array of bite-sized appetizers specifically made for the event by executive chef Matt Holmes, as well as wine and cocktails to wash it all down. The event costs $35 per guest, not including tax.

Then, on Jan. 27, chef Gabino Sotelino will offer a special multicourse tasting menu complete with traditional tapas dishes and Spanish wines. The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m., and transitions into a seated dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $55 per guest, not including tax and gratuity.

Throughout the 10-day celebration, diners will also be able to order off-menu dishes such as caramelized goat cheese with red onion puree and mebrillo honey, arroz negra lobster croquettes and poached shrimp pintxo with lime and coconut foam.

Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! was founded by Sotelino in collaboration with Lettuce Entertain You founder Rich Melman on Dec. 26, 1985.
