Kwanzaa Celebration Starts Saturday at DuSable Museum.

HYDE PARK — DuSable Museum of African American History will kick off Kwanzaa on Saturday with a celebration of “umoja.”

Umoja, or unity, is the first of seven principles recognized during the seven days of Kwanzaa from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1. DuSable Museum will start its celebration at noon on Saturday.

The holiday celebrations continue at the museum, 740 E. 56th Place, on Sunday, Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.

The events are free and open to the public.
