HYDE PARK — Events are already selling out for a planned three-day visit by composer Phillip Glass to the University of Chicago in February.
A performance of the Complete Piano Etudes by Glass sold out by Monday, when the university announced Glass would start a three-day residency with concerts, film screenings and conversations with the composer on Feb. 17.
It was announced in April that Glass, a 1956 graduate of the university, would participate in the university’s 125th anniversary celebrations in February.
On Monday, the university released a schedule of events with Glass that starts with a screening with Glass of “Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters” on Feb. 17.
Glass, who has worked with musician David Bowie, poet Allen Ginsburg, among others, will participate in a conversation about artistic collaboration on Feb. 18, followed by the sold out concert on Feb. 19.
