LINCOLN PARK — Calling all film buffs: Facets is emptying out its archives and selling tons of cheap, rare films next weekend.

The video warehouse sale, which will be held on Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Facets, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave., will feature thousands of rare and out-of-print DVDs and VHS tapes.

Those who come out can expect a range of film genres, including documentary, experimental, children's, independent, classic and silent.

The titles, which Facts describes as a collection of "rare, out of print, difficult to find and perhaps never-again-available films," won't set you back much. In fact, some titles will sell for as little as 25 cents.

It's a departure for the longstanding cinema arts organization, which, for the last 10 years, has only pulled films from its warehouse. This is the first year that Facets is offering everything from its archives.

Facets members can get a first look from 10-11 a.m.
