Inmates Watch As Chicago Protesters Call For Rahm's Resignation

DOWNTOWN — As Chicagoans took to the streets calling for Mayor Rahm Emanuel's resignation Wednesday, a slew of inmates looked on from federal prison.

Valerie Johnson, a protester and professor who joined the hundreds of demonstrators throughout the Loop Wednesday, said it was wonderful to see inmates from the Metropolitan Correctional Center, 71 W. Van Buren St., watching the march. 

"We're out here for them," said Johnson, who was calling for Emanuel's resignation due to the handling of the Laquan McDonald investigation.
