LINCOLN SQUARE — As if Lincoln Square weren't already quaint enough, it's turning into a veritable Dickens' village on Saturday for the annual Christmas tree lighting in Giddings Plaza.

Tiny Tim and Scrooge — on loan from the Goodman Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol" — will be on hand to help flip the light switch, scheduled for 5 p.m.

Prior to the main event, Victorian carolers will be spreading joy to the world along Lincoln, Damen and Montrose avenues, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. While shopping local, keep warm with hot chocolate and gluehwein, served in Giddings Plaza between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., 4733 N. Lincoln Ave.

New to this year's festivities: an ice sculpture demonstration at 10 a.m., Urban Pooch, 4501 N. Ravenswood Ave.
