CHICAGO — The Bears will increase security at Soldier Field for Sunday's game.

The Bears will take on the Denver Broncos at noon, but the team is urging fans to arrive early so they aren't delayed by the increased security, according to a Bears news release. Fans will not be allowed to bring backpacks and some purses and bags into the stadium.

The NFL announced that will have "an increased security and law enforcement presence" at this weekend's games throughout the country, though they did not specify why.

What is allowed at Soldier Field:

• Jackets
• Blankets
• A clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag that is no larger than 12-by-6-by-12 inches or a 1-gallon clear plastic bag (one per person)
• Small wristlet/clutch bags and purses that are no larger than 4.5-by-6.5 inches (one per person)
• Medically necessary items (must be inspected at Gate 10 ticket office)

More information about Soldier Field's bag rules is available online.

The Bears did not immediately respond to requests for comment and police said they did not have further information about security at the stadium. The increased security comes after last week's series of deadly attacks in Paris, including the detonation of several bombs at a sports stadium.
