CHICAGO — A man died and six other people were hurt in shootings between Thursday morning and Friday morning, police said.

At 8 p.m. Thursday evening, a 22-year-old man was shot to death in Chatham, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Earlier, a 14-year-old boy was critically wounded after being shot outside Bowen High School in South Chicago, police said.

Around 3 p.m., a man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in Little Village, Sedevic said.

• Most recently, at 1:05 a.m. Friday, a 43-year-old man was standing at a gas station in the 4700 block of South Prairie Avenue in Bronzeville when someone shot at him from a blue sedan, Sedevic said.

The man drove himself to Mercy Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in the left side of his body, Sedevic said. He was then transferred to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

• Around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a 37-year-old man was standing in the 600 block of East 79th Street in Greater Grand Crossing when a car pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was in serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds in his leg, Sedevic said.

• At 8:45 a.m., a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 1300 block of West 73rd Street in Englewood, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, Sedevic said, where he was listed in good condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and he is not cooperating with authorities.

• About 20 minutes earlier, a 15-year-old boy was standing in the 900 block of North Latrobe Avenue when a man approached him from behind and shot at him before fleeing in a red sedan, Sedevic said.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, Sedevic said.
