BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Alliance will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday to talk about a campaign to bring back the 31st Street bus.

The meeting will be at the First Trinity Community Center, 643 W. 31st St.

The CTA eliminated the route in 1997 because of low ridership, prompting activists to fight for its reinstatement.

At a public meeting at City Hall in April, CTA bosses claimed ridership surveys have shown there isn't enough need to bring back the 31st Street bus.
