UPTOWN — A recent study by Redfin shows that the average home in Uptown is selling in about 26 days and even quicker in Andersonville, whose sales occurred on average in 21 days.

Redfin's research arm took a deep dive into home sales by neighborhood, calculating the number of days properties were on the market before selling. Analyzed was a three-month period ending Sept. 31.

According to the study, the average home sold in about 24 days putting Andersonville above average and Uptown slightly below.

In contrast, the fast selling homes were in Roscoe Village and the West Loop, posting a median of about nine days on the market — meaning half of all homes listed in the neighborhood were under contract in nine days or less.

According to the website, the city hit a three-year high with more than 10,800 houses sold. "Despite the growing inventory, Chicago remains a seller’s market," the study said.

In the three-month period, Uptown had 393 new listings and 270 of the homes were sold. The median sale price of homes in the neighborhood was $230,900, according to the data.

During the same period, Andersonville had only 83 new listings, but 65 of the homes were sold. The median sale price of homes in the neighborhood, according to the data.

Rogers Park and Edgewater had similar results. The average home in Edgewater sold after 30 days on the market, while in Rogers Park they sold in 26 days.
