ROSCOE VILLAGE — For sale? Not for long in Roscoe Village, according to the latest data provided by Redfin.

The real estate company's research arm took a deep dive into home sales by neighborhood, calculating the number of days properties were on the market before selling. Analyzed was a three-month period ending Sept. 31.

Roscoe Village tied with the West Loop for fastest-selling homes, posting a median of just nine days on the market — meaning half of all homes listed in the neighborhood were under contract in nine days or less.

Wicker Park was close behind, with a median time on market of 10 days. Neighborhoods surrounding Roscoe Village including Lakeview, Lincoln Square and North Center posted medians of 22, 26 and 16 days respectively.

Roscoe Village appeals to buyers for a number of reasons, according to Redfin agent Chris Chesne,

Among the neighborhood's lures he cited were the area's residential feel coupled with Roscoe Street's commercial corridor, access to public transportation and highly-rated schools that are comparable to those found in pricier North Center.

The median sale price of homes in Roscoe Village was $456,000 versus $537,000 in North Center, which topped Redfin's survey.
