LINCOLN PARK — It's taken longer than expected to open Blue Door Farm Stand's new location, so the folks behind the farm-to-table cafe are opening temporary digs to tide you over.

The pop-up cafe, dubbed Blue Door Farm Stand Too, will sprout up at 711 W. Armitage Ave. this weekend as construction continues on what will become the new permanent location at 2010 N. Halsted St.

"Chicagoans have been so wonderfully responsive to our local farm-to-table cuisine — so supportive, in fact, they can't bear the wait for the completion of our new space, and neither can we," Gabe Garza, president and partner of Ideology Entertainment, said in a written statement.

The temporary location will only offer delivery and carry out. But it'll be outfitted with the same aesthetic touches, including a blue door, as the permanent location.

In May, Garza said he was aiming to open the Halsted Street location this summer. But it has been pushed back to sometime this fall or winter.

Expect favorites such as the Brussels and kale salad, fig and arugula grilled cheese and sesame chicken salad on the menu, which will also feature Bow Truss coffee and Harvest Juicery cold-pressed juices.
