EDGEWATER — Construction on a new water main installation project is already underway on North Broadway and continuing into its next phases.

The project, which began its first phase of construction Friday between Granville and Devon avenues, will restrict parking on both sides of North Broadway between Devon and Thorndale as crews repair potholes and perform saw cutting, according to Ald. Harry Osterman.

Construction will move south to its second phase, at the intersection of Granville and Broadway, before moving to its final phase between Granville and Thorndale avenues.

Until the testing and cutting phase is finished (by Wednesday, Oct. 21, according to the alderman) traffic is slimmed to one lane in each direction. Most of the work is being done on the east side of the street, he said.

Those parking restrictions will be generally lifted from Granville to Thorndale beginning "midweek," Osterman said in an email to residents.

There will, however, be additional parking restrictions in the future as the main line is installed, and later during service connections, Osterman said.
