NORTH PARK — The Chicago Department of Transportation continues to work through its list of 61 miles of streets slated for repaving in 2015, with a half-mile stretch of Kimball Avenue next up in its queue.

Resurfacing work on Kimball between Ardmore and Lincoln avenues is scheduled to start Thursday and should wrap up by December, according to a notice from Ald. Margaret Laurino (39th).

Concrete work will take place first: ADA sidewalk improvements, curb and gutter removal, and bus pad construction.

Asphalt milling — removal of the top layer of existing asphalt — comes next, followed by paving and striping.

While construction is under way, temporary parking restrictions will be posted as necessary during working hours.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has announced an annual goal of repaving at least 300 miles of roads per year.
