EDGEWATER — City officials are inviting business owners in the community whose shops lie along North Broadway to attend a meeting this week on an upcoming water main project.

At 1 p.m. on Thursday, Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) and representatives from the Department of Water as well as Joel Kennedy Construction will be at the Edgewater Library, 6000 North Broadway, to discuss plans to improve water infrastructure between Devon and Thorndale avenues.

In a letter to residents, Osterman emphasized attendance from businesses was "extremely important" to get valuable information on the project and how it may affect them.

Earlier this year, a new water main was put in on Argyle between Broadway and Winthrop as part of the area's streetscape project, at which time businesses remained open but construction caused temporary delays on parking and traffic.
