LOGAN SQUARE — After 30 years in business, El Charro has officially closed.

The restaurant shut its doors earlier this week, as Furious Spoon, a Wicker Park-based ramen shop, is expected to open its second location at the former El Charro space.

As of Friday afternoon most of the tables inside the former El Charro, 2410 N. Milwaukee Ave., had been cleared out.

The restaurant taped a note to the door thanking customers and friends for their business over the years.

"With much regret and sadness would like to inform you that we will be closing El Charro Restaurant on September 28, 2015. Thank you so much for 30 wonderful years of business."

Furious Spoon has been popular in Wicker Park since it opened in February.

The Logan Square Furious Spoon will feature a bar and a second-floor rooftop space when it opens, according to Eater.

The Wicker Park Furious Spoon has been popular due to its relatively cheap prices (around $8 for a bowl) and late hours. It also serves rice dishes and a number of appetizers such as pickled vegetables and gyoza.

The Wicker Park location does offer a small selection of Japanese beers and sake, but the Logan Square location is expected to have an expanded bar.
